This policy applies to buyers, sellers, delivery partners, and visitors. It does not cover third-party websites linked from Townssy, and it should be read together with our Terms of Use, which govern your use of the marketplace.
Information we collect
We collect information in three main ways:
- Information you provide: name, username, email, phone number, profile photo, delivery addresses, order details, messages, reviews, and support requests.
- Information generated through use: order history, cart activity, notification preferences, device/browser type, log data, IP address, and security events such as sign-in activity.
- Optional location information: country, region, and city when you choose to share approximate location to improve product availability and recommendations. We do not sell this data for third-party advertising.
Payment card details are handled by our payment processors. Townssy does not store full card numbers on its own servers.
How we use your information
We use personal information to operate and improve Townssy, including to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Process orders, payments, refunds, and delivery updates.
- Send transactional messages such as order confirmations, shipping notices, and payment receipts.
- Provide customer support and investigate disputes or fraud.
- Personalize product discovery, saved preferences, and regional availability.
- Maintain platform safety, enforce policies, and comply with legal obligations.

Why we are allowed to use your data

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You can help protect your account by using a strong password, enabling available security features, and signing out on shared devices. Report suspicious activity through Safety center.

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, and to object to or restrict some processing.
- Update profile and address details in your account settings.
- Manage notification and marketing preferences in the app.
- Withdraw location consent where the feature is optional.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information must be retained even after deletion requests where required for legal or legitimate business purposes.
Children & international users
Townssy is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us so we can delete it.
Townssy is operated from Ghana and may process information on servers located in other countries where our service providers operate. When data is transferred internationally, we take steps intended to provide an appropriate level of protection consistent with this policy.
Changes & contact
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or our practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
